Australia Lawmaker Reject A$8.4B ASX Takeover!

On 22/Nov, Singapore shares end lower Monday as Beijing further increase banks’ reserve requirement ratio by 0.50 percentage point from Nov. 29.

STI ended lower at 3190.92 (0.2%) with VERY LOW VOL of 1.17 billion shares traded compared with 1.25 billion shares Friday. In the broader market, losers outnumbered gainers 283 to 169. Recently STI trading volume has been very low which could means that investors are staying sideline pending for more cues from US.

Australian non-party lawmaker Bob Katter Monday disagreed with proposed A$8.4 billion (US$8.3 billion) takeover of the country’s largest stock market operator by Singapore Exchange Ltd. (S68.SG) describes the takeover of ASX Ltd. (ASX.AU) as “lunacy”.
