MayBank Purchase Kim Eng US$1.4 Billion!

On 06/Jan, Singapore shares end higher Thursday as U.S. reported improved weekly jobs data.

STI ended higher at 3279.70 (0.8 %) with HIGH VOL of 2.09 billion shares traded compared with 2.03 billion shares Wednesday. In the broader market, gainers outnumbered losers 379 to 150. STI continue to rally for the fourth straight session as investors are bullish on the economic.

STATS ChipPAC Ltd. (S24.SG) has priced a US$200 million 2016 private bond placement with a 5.375% coupon to prepay its US$360 million senior term loan facility.

CapitaMalls Asia Ltd. (JS8.SG, CLPAF) plans to sell up to S$200 million in bond through issues of bonds with one- and three-year maturities.

Malayan Banking Bhd. (1155.KU) made a MYR4.26 billion (US$1.4 billion) offer to take over brokerage firm Kim Eng Holdings Ltd. (K50.SG).
