Black Swans and the Unpredictability of Life

The recent Japanese earthquake and tsunami has gripped our attention this week. On top of the tragedy that has seen many Japanese people losing their homes and their lives, they have to contend with the nuclear fallout issues of the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant.

I’ve talked about the book, “The Black Swan” by Nicholas Nassim Taleb and am continually reminded about the uncertainty and fragility of life. So where does that leave us in our own journeys through life seeking financial freedom?

How do we grapple with the unknown and uncertainties that life throws as us?
