Tasteless marketing (Facebook love story ends badly)

Bookmark and Share Straits Times today carried a story entitled 'Facebook Love story Ends Badly' 16 April 2011 in which many netizens were mislead into believing a real life love story which turns up to be an insurance marketing. Besides Straits Times, XINMSN also carried the story "Mark and Audrey's big day" a marketing ploy. Many netizens were lead to believe that 'Mark' and 'Audrey' faced tremendous obstacles to their marriage. Eventually netizens were led to a webpage showing a video of their marriage day. It turns out that the last part of the video showed that it is actually an insurance marketing ploy. According to the Straits Times report, one netizen by name of Justine Lee, 25, said "They evoked the sympathy of the public and asked for help. Then, they turned the tables on us. If I find out I have policies from the insurance company... I will SWITCH to another.......
