On 05/May, Singapore shares end lower Thursday as investors are cautious due to overnight weak U.S. economic data.

STI ended lower at 3109.85 (0.13 %) with LOW VOL of 1.17 billion shares traded compared with 1.27 billion shares Wednesday. In the broader market, losers outnumbered gainers 272 to 172. Today the selling pressure for the STI has eased as bargain hunters buy on recent corrections.

Parkway Life REIT 1Q distribution per unit rose 14 per cent year-on-year to 2.36 Singapore cents due to contribution from its Japan properties acquisition and higher rents in Singapore.

Rotary Engineering 1Q net profit fell 62 per cent to S$5.3 million compared to a year earlier due to hit by the progressive completion of a big project as well as fewer and lower-margin projects in Singapore.
