SIA 4Q Net Profit Shrinks 38.5% To S$171m!

On 12/May, Singapore shares end lower Thursday as fall in energy prices prompt investors to sell their resources stocks.

STI ended lower at 3130.45 (1.5%) with regular VOL of 1.15 billion shares traded compared with 1.18 million shares Wednesday. In the broader market, losers outnumbered gainers 364 to 115. Today STI undergo massive sell down as investors dump their stocks for safety. The index could have drop more if Singtel did not managed to hold its ground.

Singapore Telecommunications Ltd. (Z74.SG) 4Q net profit fell 2.3% to S$991.7 million compared with S$1.02 billion a year earlier due to lower contributions from its Indian associate.

Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp. (O39.SG) 1Q net profit fell 7% to S$628 million compared with S$676 million a year ago due to decline in non-interest income and increasing staff costs.
