Mermaid Maritime to consolidate drilling business!

On 06/June, Singapore shares end lower Monday as weak economic data from U.S. raised concerns on the sustainability of the global economic recovery.

STI ended lower at 3113.73 (1%) with LOW VOL of 979.4 million shares traded compared with 1.13 billion shares Friday. In the broader market, losers outnumbered gainers 329 to 92. Today STI undergo heavy selling pressure as investors en-cash their stocks for safety as the outlook looks bearish ahead.

Olam International Ltd. (O32.SG) plan to raise US$603 million in funds via various avenues, including a private placement of US$200 million to Temasek Holdings Pte. Ltd.

After market close

Lian Beng Group Ltd. (L03.SG) has won contracts to build a private residential development in the city-state worth S$150.7 million.

Mermaid Maritime plans to consolidate its drilling business through soon-to-be listed Asia Offshore Drilling Limited (AOD).
