Spending My 10K "Windfall"

If you read my previous post, you will know that I had a sudden 10k "windfall". After thinking hard over a few days, I kind of remembered vaguely that I did place a sum of 10k in a structured deposit with POSB five years ago. Why did I do that? Because I am a noob, naive, gullible and "kiasi"rookie investor back then. 


Due to the scare tactics deployed by my parents, I told myself never to dabble in stocks. My parents used to tell me scary and depressing stories about investors during the 1998 Asian financial crisis. I was in secondary school then. I guess those years of "brainwashing" at a young age made a huge difference in my financial planning. So, after completing NS, I was still putting money in conservative fixed deposits and unit trusts while my peers invested in stocks. Well, fortunately, I missed the 2008 ......
