SingTel 1Q Mobile Customer Base Up 19% To 416 Mln!

On 10/Aug, Singapore shares ended lower as investors sold off to price in the sharp losses on regional bourses suffered the previous day.

STI ended lower at 2821.09 (2.2%) with HIGH VOL of 2.52 billion shares traded compared with 2.49 billion shares Monday. In the broader market, losers outnumbered gainers 486 to 147. Today STI continue to undergo heavy selling pressure after Tuesday’s public holiday as the overall market sentiment remains weak.

Singapore Airlines Ltd. (C6L.SG) has order eight more Boeing 777-300ER aircraft worth US$2.3 billion.

Tiger Airways Holdings Ltd. (J7X.SG) will gradually resume its Australian operations from Aug. 12 after a ban on those flights was lifted by Australia’s aviation-safety regulators.

Singapore Telecommunications Ltd. (Z74.SG) total mobile customers grew 19% on year during the quarter that ended June 30, reaching 416 million.
