NOL 3Q Net Loss US$91m!

On 31/Oct, Singapore shares ended lower as U.S. Dollar rose higher after Japanese authorities intervened to weaken the yen.

STI ended lower at 2855.77 (1.7%) with regular VOL of 1.48 billion shares traded compared with 2.03 billion shares Friday. In the broader market, losers outnumbered gainers 344 to 128. Today STI undergo heavy profit taking as investors sell on the recent gains.

Great Eastern Holdings Ltd. (G07.SG) 3Q net profit fell 76% to S$40.4 million compared with S$168.8 million a year earlier due to investment-related losses.

STX OSV Holdings Ltd. (MS7.SG) has secured contracts worth more than 1 billion Norwegian kroner (US$185 million) to build four platform supply vessels for the Island Onshore Group.
