Singapore Press Holdings 3Q Net Profit Falls 13% to S$99.8 Mln!

On 13/July, Singapore shares ended higher as China reported second-quarter growth in line with expectations.

STI ended higher at 2995.56 (0.8%) with LOW VOL of 1.75 billion shares traded compared with 2.36 billion shares Thursday. In the broader market, gainers outnumbered losers 225 to 133. Today STI undergo weak buying pressure as most investors preferred to sideline awaiting for the earning report.

Genting Singapore PLC (G13.SG) has hired an executive from rival Las Vegas Sands Corp. (LVS) to join the compliance department at its Resorts World Sentosa casino resort.

Keppel Land Ltd. (K17.SG) is partnering with Sri Lankan developer CT Properties Ltd. to jointly develop a high-end residential project in the South Asian nation that would cost about 70 million Singapore dollars (US$55.2 million).
