SIA Engineering: 1Q Net Profit Rose 2.9% To S$70.1M!

On 24/July, Singapore shares ended higher on pickup in Chinese manufacturing helped offset continued concerns over Europe.

STI ended higher at 2998.44 (0.5%) with LOW VOL of 0.947 billion shares traded compared with 1.44 billion shares Monday. In the broader market, gainers outnumbered losers 195 to 142. Today STI rally under weak buying pressure as investors are not willing to buy any higher.

Singapore Airlines will make network adjustments during the Northern Winter operating season (Oct. 28 to March 30), comprising capacity increases on several routes, reductions on others and seasonal aircraft changes.

SIA Engineering Co. Ltd. (S59.SG) 1Q net profit rose 2.9% to S$70.1 million compared with S$68.1 million a year earlier owing to growth in its fleet-management and line-maintenance business.
