Olam’s auditor is Ernst & Young and it has been getting unqualified audit opinions for 2010, 2011 and 2012. Olam said it will “launch a spirited defence” to Muddy Waters’ accusations and if would EY come out to refute Muddy Waters’ accusations point by point (similar to what Evergrande did with PWC when Citron came out with a short-seller report), then perhaps, we may draw some comfort there. But for now, it is still early days and let’s see what Muddy Waters come up with in its report.
