Bullish start for Straits Times Index in 2013

STI started the New Year with a bang as it managed to surge33.42pts higher despite the short week. The main reason for such bullishness was due the resolution of the US congress on tackling the “Fiscal Cliff” problems.  Market cheered on the avoidance of the “Fiscal Cliff” and was delighted on the future prospect of US economy. On the first day of the year, STI managed to end as a bullish day which led STI towards its resistance level of 3215. Further positiveness was seen on Thursday as regional market continued to cheer on the outcome of US’s “Fiscal Cliff” issues. Trading volume was seen to be climbing back to its usual levels as the “holiday mood” started to ease off. It was a great start for year 2013.
