A net loss will be coming for Q1...
Midas is a stock that burned me once and will never burn me again.
During my 2 years as a stock broker, I couldn't resist the urge to speculate. Having heard all the talks of a china railway recovery and growth story, I bought 20 lots of Midas at an average price of 60 cents. I have since exited at 40c, for a total capital loss of $4,000 sgd. My only and most significant loss in my 6 years of investing experience.
$4,000 is a heavy price tag to pay for this lesson, but I have since learnt a lot. Never to speculate and always stick to good companies with steady earnings, strong balance sheets and good dividend payouts.
The thing about Midas is that I really don't understand how can they announce so many contract wins, yet keep issuing profit warnings ......
