Singapore’s Tallest Building To House Clermont Hotel And Residences

Come 2016 when the iconic Tanjong Pagar Centre throws open its doors above Tanjong Pagar MRT station, Clermont Hotel and Residences will form part of the mixed-use skyscraper. The 64-storey building will have office, retail, residential and hotel spaces. Developed by Singapore-listed GuocoLand which paid $1.71 billion - or $1,006 psf per plot ratio - for the site in February 2011, it is targeted to be the country's tallest building at 290m. GuocoLand obtained special permission to build beyond the prescribed maximum height of 280m, which buildings like One Raffles Place stands at. Hotel company, glh. - a subsidiary of Singapore-listed GuocoLeisure Group - will set up shop in Tanjong Pagar Centre with its new luxurious hotel and residence brand, Clermont. Clermont will leave its footprints in three places: London, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. Its Singapore's outlet will offer a 202-room upmarket hotel targeted at business travellers, along with 200 luxurious serviced apartments at Tanjong Pagar Centre. The apartments will occupy the upper storeys of the office tower - Guoco Tower – and will comprise a range of unit types from one- to four-bedders and penthouses. Expected to be priced at above $3,000 psf, it is strictly for the well-heeled. Residents and hotel guests will enjoy panoramic views of the CBD and many conveniences including direct access to Tanjong Pagar MRT Station and a host of shopping and dining amenities at their doorstep - with 100,000 sq ft of space devoted to retail units in the building.
