Ukraine political situation & Stock Markets

Singapore markets headed south yesterday (3 March 2014) against the backdrop of the situation in Ukraine, in tandem with other markets. The performance of China’s PMI also contributed to the performance of global stock markets. So apart from the usual economic factors and decisions from US, China and Europe, we have a new factor of a new nature coming into the equation of investments and that is political “turmoil” (not sure whether I use the correct word “turmoil’). The last time I remember factors of such nature came into the investment picture was the political situation in Libya (remember Gaffafi?) and that was back in year 2010, if I could still remember correctly. As a result of the Ukraine situation, I see my portfolio going south. I am still okay with it as my current portfolio, through some “restructuring”, consists three-quarters blue-chip stocks.
