Love & Investment – Similar But Different

Brought a smile on my face when I read Alvin Chow's latest post titled "4 Things Love and Investing Have in Common". Alvin is the founder of BigFatPurse investment website. He made some good observations, no doubt. But I can't help but draw conclusions that he must have quite a forgettable experience in love?? (tongue in cheek) #1 - He first talked about Idealistic Expectations. More specifically, he is referring to the expectations mismatch between the investor and the investment strategy adopted. If there is such a mis-match, the fault must lie with the investor and his application of the strategy. Well, as investors, we expect to make a satisfactory return on our investments.   1. Marry the Right one and stay faithful for long time to enjoy the fruits of the labour during courtship.

    Right and Hold.

    No need for hard work to sustain the relationship as it is now based on faith or strong belief.

    No more emotional roller ride as you have enough emotional buffer to cushion it away.

    Smile every time when you receive your CDP statement or CPF investment statement. (Sound like Dear Minister?)
