Nice to read about Value Investing Strategyin the newspapers. Have not been receiving regular dosage of it since Teh Hooi Ling days.
However, Value Investing is likely not a topic that will excite the masses very much due to 4 big reasons.
Reason #1 - You Can't Be Warren Buffett
It is a double-edged sword to be linked to Warren Buffett.
On one hand, due to his success, there is little argument that value investing works.
He did it and he is one of the world's richest man.
On the other, the common folks on the streets may feel that Warren's an one-off. They are not Warren Buffett and hence incapable of applying the same techniques.
It's the same for me too. Personally, I practise a variant of value investing closer to Ben Graham & Walter Schloss. I think it's difficult to replicate what Warren did....
