Boustead Singapore stock Boustead Singapore is seeking to “decouple” its business by listing its property business (“Boustead Project”) as a separate entity on the Singapore Stocks Exchange. If the “decoupling succeeds, Boustead Singapore will be left with two divisions: its energy infrastructure segment and its geo-spatial infrastructure business. From what I have read, some shareholders have objected to the “decoupling”, arguing that the “decoupling” will leave Boustead with a more cyclical portfolio in the energy sector. As a retail investor, I first came across the parlance “rationalization” when I read Boustead Singapore’s annual report in which it was argued that this “rationalization” of business can stand Boustead through the different business cycles via the diversified portfolio, hence I am rather surprised at the decision of Mr Wong, Boustead’s CEO to “decouple” the 186-year old business.
I am not attractive to Boustead’s separately-listed property stock. I think we have too many ......
