Personal Financial Investment Seminar Round 2
By Derek  •  January 18, 2015
And so the inaugural Investment Seminar ended yesterday. I had a good time interacting with the speakers, their readers as well meeting new bloggers. I also get to see an old blogger (you know who you are). I think the last time I seen him was about 3 - 4 years ago and you haven't age a bit. I think that answer's Alvin's question of Value Investors vs Traders? For those who have attended, you may have seen me opening the doors for you to the auditorium and it was a pleasure to see you all. Here are some pictures taken from my mobile (apologies for the quality). Till next time.[/caption] True to the organizer's word, there wasn't too much sales talk from the speakers. There are still the usual sponsors booths and the odd survey or two but the general feel given to me is still more on investor education than on marketing. The crowd is also relatively young as compared to investment seminars that I have been to. There were a few teenagers as well and judging from their fashion sense, they seem more like Lifestyle bloggers. I spoke to Calvin on this and I agree that these people may not be too interested in investing at this moment but on budgeting or in layman terms how much they are spending and/or saving. There were only a few questions during the panel discussion which I attribute to our culture. I am thinking of bringing this panel discussion online for the benefit of those who did not have the opportunity and also or for those who miss out on the event. Feel free to drop your questions in the comment section below and I will contact the bloggers for their answers. You can also drop me your questions via my contact page. If you have other requests like a copy of the speakers video, slides, portfolio or even their pictures etc let me know too. I will ask them if they are willing to share.

Hey Derek, Thanks for being so supportive for the event! Without all of bloggers help, it will not be possible.
I am planning to make the video of the event be available on the event site so those who missed it can still enjoy the presentation. I will be sure to let know when it is ready.
    Many thanks!
