Why sometime it is better to not attend AGMs?

It is AGMS season as I receive booklets, pamphlets, DVDs of annual reports and AGM letters of the companies which I have shareholdings in. Many financial advocates have recommended retail investors to attend AGMs as it is often the only platform to get “up, close and personal” with the management of the company to ask and clarify with them personally. With all the above benefits, why do I say that it is better to not attend AGMs sometime? Well, some of the AGMs are in effect a sales talk or a sales pitch. I know of someone who walks into an AGM of a penny stock, initially wanting to press the management on what has become of the bottoming stock price.
