This Chinese Financial Word has Great Meaning

Some time ago, I heard a passer-by utter a mandarin financial phrase which I have not really heard for quite some time. The phrase is none other than the simple phrase of money in mandarin. Nope, the phrase is not “qian” but it is “jin qian” (perhaps that is why at this stage, you would recognize with me that this phrase is seldom heard of now). So what’s the big deal of this phrase? As Chinese know, the chinese word of “qian” means money and “jin” means gold. Nowadays we heard the word of “qian” being spoken more than “jin qian” so much so that I have forgotten that “jin qian” is really the predecessor phrase of “qian” (hence I was caught surprised when hearing this phrase again).
