Years ago when I was adjusting to my new work schedule trading US hours, I started to forego local public holidays for US holidays. We would skip out on Vesak Day or Hari Raya Puasa since the Treasury markets were still trading (oblivious to the celebrations on our side of the world), but get time off over Easter, and 4th of July instead. Now this is a story about a bar brawl that happened over one 4th of July. I managed to land my ass in a fight on my night off from work. Let me tell the tale.

I woke up that evening and asked out a Japanese girl I had recently met days before at that year's Beer Fest, and we agreed to meet at some bar. I dressed appropriately for the occasion, putting on a Captain America T-shirt, because what other day of the year is better ......
