SembCorp Industries First Half Results – Way Above Expectations!

  2nd Quarter earnings per share grew by 24%! This was mostly due to the sale of their UK utilities assets and less than expected declined in utilities earnings.   As 1st quarter results were terrible and 2nd quarter was great, 1st half results came in decently as net profits were up 1%. Dividends were maintained at 5 cents! which is a positive sign. Half year eps was 20 cents, and I expect full year earnings to come in around 35 to 40 cents, slightly below last years. If payout ratio is maintained at 40%, we are looking at a full year dividend of around 14 to 16 cents... which could mean a yield of 4% or better at current prices.   Marine segment sucked like what I wrote about Semb Marine in my previous posts, the Utilities ended up saving the company as it contributed to 64% of total earnings!   Utilities saw ......
