One of my goals for the year 2015 is to simplify my life.
Management gurus often advise us to set S.M.A.R.T. goals - specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely. This goal of mine is not SMART at all. Nonetheless, it makes a world of difference to me.
What do I mean by 'simplify my life'?
It is to find bliss in the simple things in life, be grateful for everything and avoid the five Cs - complication, confustication, contradiction, complexity and clutter.
One way to do so is to stick to a low-information diet. I used to be a voracious news reader, consuming every story that rolls off the financial press. I wanted to stay on top of the market (whatever that means). But I realized it made me tense and worried. I thought about my investments all the time, be it at work ......
