On the first day of its trading on SGX on 20 May 2016, Manulife US Reit closed at US$0.79 which was about 4.82% lower than the IPO price of US $0.83. As of its closing price on 20 May 2016, Manulife US Reit traded at 1.01 times its book value. I did not subscribe to Manulife US Reit; neither did I buy the Reit on the first day of its trading. This is because I do not like IPO stocks, means to say I do not like to buy IPO or stocks which have just IPO-ed. I prefer to understand the stocks markets perception of the Reit first, the supports and resistances of the Reit price before considering IPO stocks.
