I realize I’ve developed an addiction to saving money. In my earlier post, I wrote about how I saved S$100,000 cash (+ drive a 2nd hand car by age 27). I felt a sense of satisfaction when my bank account fattens up. I have a strong need for security, and the increasing cash savings fed my hunger for security, strengthing my safety net. I read that when one needs security, it is due to underlying fears developed in the past. It is very true for my case. I still remember clearly the night on Mothers’ Day several years back, probably ~17  years ago. My parents, sister & I were sitting around the dining table. The atmosphere was sombre & serious.
