Dear readers, I believe there are many lamp posts in Singapore; this, I believe you will not deny. PM Lee in his National Day speech highlighted that the government will, as part of Singapore’s Smart Nation push, makes every lamp post in Singapore a smart lamp post. Through equipping each lamp post with sensors and connecting them to the internet or internet of things, the collective network of island-wide lamp posts, and each capturing data around the vicinity of each lamp post will aggregate towards some big data which can be used for estate management, security management and much more. Currently, the smart lamp post is an untapped niche. Hence I believe any listed company with the expertise to do what the government requires in this smart lamp post initiative will be doing good business (owning to the large numbers of lamp posts we have here).
