What’s the Return On Investment (ROI) for Education? Hang tight, cause this one’s going to be a doozy. Having graduated and entered the working world four incredibly short years ago, education has always been at the back of my mind. Of course, it helps being a teacher too ???? Having spent most of my formative years in school (from age 5 in kindergarten till 23 in university), it’s safe to say that most Singaporeans can attest to my experience and the familiarity of growing up as students on the island (after all, primary school education is compulsory in the city-state and public schools are heavily funded by a Ministry with a national budget about S$13 billion (FY2017) strong.) The paper chase has also traditionally reaped significant rewards, with degree holders out-earning polytechnic and ITE graduates from the get-go too.
