Book review: Momentum – how to build it, keep it or get it back

This is a big concept book which brought me through the equation of Momentum with brilliant explanations on each part of the formula and a number of case studies on famous companies. You will find the equation right at the end of this blog post. Snippets of wisdom which I have lifted throughout the book are in italic here and my inputs are in non-italic. The concept is not only useful for individuals (who are turning into couch potato like me) but also for leaders who are looking to veer their sluggish companies into momentum (turnaround). Getting into momentum... You can't steer a parked car. When a car is stationary, you can turn the steering wheel as much as you like but it will have no effect/ However, when a car is in motion, even if it is going slowly or even in the completely wrong direction, you can always steer. I began exploring the financial world in year 2010, hoping to get out of the rat race and be financially independent. 2010 was the aftermath period of the Lehman crisis when a pretty shaken up market was struggling to recover. On hindsight, that was the perfect time to catch multi-bagger stocks should I be a veteran or at least had some basic knowledge of picking up 'gems'. My learning curve was steep then, as I have absolutely no friends or relative who could shed some light on what's investing about.
