February 2019 Singapore Savings Bonds is 2.20%

I must say this is not a fantastic start for Singapore Savings Bonds for the start of the new year 2019. The effective interest rate for February 2019 Singapore Savings Bonds (GX19020V) is 2.20% if you held it for 10 years. As you can see from the chart above, the effective interest rate has dipped from 2.45% to a pathetic 2.20%. However, as usual, I shall be allocating a portion of my monthly salary into safe haven. Singapore Savings Bonds acts as a form of emergency fund when the need arises.

I am excited this year as I will be receiving payout from Singapore Savings Bonds every month this year since I have completed my purchase of Singapore Savings Bonds every month in the year 2018.

Also, if you didn’t know yet, you can purchase Singapore Savings Bonds using your SRS with effect from 1st February 2019.
