Plenty has happened over the last month with all major stock markets entering a bear market.

Singapore Airlines (SGX:C6L) is one of the early casualties and is looking to raise billions through a dilutive rights issue from existing shareholders to stave off a liquidity crunch.

While there are compelling investment opportunities, there are just as many potential value traps as companies confront the new business reality.

Many companies will go under or suffer irreparable damage because of poor business models or overly leveraged balance sheets.
