PM Lee Hsien Loong’s Second Public Address on COVID-19 Situation

As Singapore’s COVID-19 cases surpassed 1,000 cases this week, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong gave a speech on 3 Apr, Friday 4pm. Key Summary Most workplaces to close except for essential services and key economic sectors from April 7.  Essential services like, food establishments, markets and supermarkets, clinics, hospitals, utilities, transport and key banking services will remain open.  Full home-based learning in schools and IHLs starting April 8. All pre-school and student care centres will also be closed, but will provide limited services for children of parents who have to continue working and are unable to make alternative care arrangements. From this Sunday, the Government will distribute reusable masks to all households. Singapore will tighten restrictions on movements and gatherings of people. Gatherings should be confined to households, and avoid visiting even your extended families who are not staying with you, especially if they are elderly or vulnerable. Go...
