Bought Comfortdelgro

I bought 5,000 shares of ComfortDelGro (CDG) today using the proceeds from the sale of FCOT in SRS. CDG share price plunged to its lowest in the past year and breached the support of 2.13 after they announced their lustre FY2019 results on 14 Feb 2020. After my order at 2.09 was filled, it continue to dip to 2.06. While revenue increased by $100m, net profit decreased $40.6m or 11.3%. This is not a surprise considering the overheads from its acquisitions and disruption of its taxi business due to emerging technologies favouring private hire vehicles. The main surprise is the...

Site survey of Toa Payoh Ridge – Feb 2020 HDB BTO

Having visited the site of Canberra Vista, I remembered that a few months ago in Oct 2019, we have also visited the site of Toa Payoh Ridge. We wanted to have a sense of the environment and amenities nearby Caldecott MRT before deciding if this BTO project is worth applying. The site survey began with a visit to the exhibit of Toa Payoh Town at HDB Hub Basement. We then walked from Toa Payoh Central to Caldecott MRT. It took around 20 mins under the scorching sun. From Caldecott MRT, we took a 6 mins walk to Toa Payoh...

Site survey of Canberra Vista – Feb 2020 HDB BTO

I went down to the plot of Canberra Vista for a site survey of this BTO project today. I wanted to check out the environment, amenities and flats located nearby Canberra MRT to have a sense of how it is like living in Canberra Vista. I met up with Ms Doraemon at Yishun MRT and we took a 15 min walk to Canberra to have a sense of the distance of Canberra from Yishun. It is a smooth stroll along the park connector along the MRT track. As we closed in on Canberra MRT, we were greeted by Sungei...

Sold Frasers Commercial Trust

I just sold all 7,011 shares of Frasers Commercial Trust (FCOT) in SRS portfolio today on 13 Feb 2020. I bought 6,800 shares at $1.47 in Apr 2019 and collected 4 rounds of dividends – 2 rounds in scrips dividend shares and 2 rounds in cash. Total returns in 10 months is $2.1k or 21%.Main reason for selling is due to the merger with Frasers Logistics & Industrial trust (FLT) . As I already own 12,000 shares of FLT in CDP, I do not want another 8,644 shares of the same thing in SRS after merger. Another reason is that...

It’s time to save money by eating porridge

This is my typical humble Teo Chew porridge style with 3 dishes of 1 meat, 2 veggie – cabbage, fried chicken and bittergourd egg. How much do you think it costs? It is from a popular mixed vegetable rice stall at  Kim Keat hawker in Toa Payoh Lor 7.This meal only costs $2.20! Less than a cup of Koi bubble milk tea. A fraction of Starbucks coffee. When I ordered the same dishes at Ban Heng Teo Chew Porridge outlet, the same meal costs $8! More than 3x in cost but does not generate more than 3x of satisfaction for...

Portfolio Update Jan 2020

Portfolio value of $196.5KMy portfolio was $194.5k on 2 Jan 2020 as shared in earlier post. It increased slightly by $2k on the last day of Jan 2020. In fact it surpassed $200k at some point in mid Jan before a major correction due to the global coronavirus pandemic outbreak.I have added 853 shares of Ascott Trust using the odd lots promotion by POEMS. It is not an easy feat as I have to buy 99 shares of Ascott Trust on many days this month to enjoy the free brokerage. But overall it is worth the effort. This is...

Living a Minimalist to be ready for Death

“You live as if you were destined to live forever, no thought of your frailty ever enters your head, of how much time has already gone by you take no heed. First Purchase of 2020 – Ascott Reit-BT

On the first trading day of 2020, I was “forced” or rather “enticed” to make the first purchase of the year. CPF Interest for 2019

On the first day of 2020, I woke up at close to noon. Upon surfing EDMW in HWZ forum, I saw this thread.Seeing that many forumers have already checked their CPF accounts and rejoiced at the interests that they have earned without really working for it.Usually in the past, it takes 2 to 3 working days before our CPF accounts are updated with the interest amount. In 2020, CPF board has become more efficient! So I checked my CPF too. I was expecting around 8k of interests. I have not really computed and did not know how to compute accurately...

LIVE RICH LIFE FREE IN THE NEW DECADE

Hello Folks! This is the inaugural post of my blog. I have revived this old blog and kicked it out of life on a warm evening on the last day of 2019. Why do I suddenly come up with this blog?I believe that life is a story book with many chapters. We are the lead actor or actress in the story. The environment, events and people surrounding us are just playing supporting roles in our story. Each chapter denotes 1 decade of our lives. How many chapters of one’s book varies among us. Some will have 7 chapters, some up...
