I’m a 52 year old part time trader who trade only in Singapore SGX exchange listed stocks. I am working towards the target to an early retirement or at least out of rat race when I receive my CPF saving on Sep 2011, and top up with the accumulated nett profits from stocks trading.

I have two sons and one daughter. The elder one, 20, is now serving national service in the Navy; and the other son, 13, is in Secondary One, and daughter, 18, is in second year Junior College. Wife is a homemaker without any income and the whole family depends on me for financial support, so I have to do well in this journey of trading.

Cheers!

Mandy Ong started out as Futures Broker with a SGX clearing member firm in year 2000, handling institutional and retail clients. In year 2003, she became a commission-based Broker, servicing her own clients. Many investors often part with their hard earned money investing in something they do not fully understand. Therefore, she quit broking in Sept 2008 to devote more time to educating the public on Futures Trading.

The main objective of The MidnightStar is to introduce investors to Futures Trading and help you understand what trading is all about before plunging into the markets. The website will give you market updates, information and news to help you in your trading.

If you are new to Futures and need more help, we have courses to help equip you with the skills and knowledge required for successful trading. As an ex-broker, Mandy will also share with you the secrets of successful traders, what they do right where others have failed.

    Newbie here to value investing.

May I enquire where can I get a stock screener for Singapore stocks to filter datas like P/E, P/Book. ROE, ROE, Current ratio, D/E ratio etc

SGX website does not seem to provide it. Neither does MSN.central. Although finance.yahoo seem to provide a screener for the basic ratios only.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

    Hi phinix,

I know that some brokerage firms like Phillips have something similar that you require. You might want to check with your broker.

You can also refer to this site – http://investing.businessweek.com/research/company/overview/overview.asp . However some of the information may not be complete.

For me, I usually refer to their AR or financial statements and do my own calculation. Sort of a learning process for me.

This post is a somewhat reflective one as I mull over my investing journey after switching over to value investing in late 2007. So far, it’s been a rough ride over the last two and a half years with turbulence rocking stock markets and a “lost decade” appearing for many countries, thus shaking the core [...]
