I have been receiving many comments to my blog postings recently. Some of my readers might be wondering why I didn’t publish their comments/feedback to my blog. Actually I don’t moderate my blog and all comments should rightfully be published. This is because I believe everyone should be entitled to his own personal views. But somehow whenever I clicked on the “publish comments” radio button in my dashboard, the comments were not shown on the page itself. In fact I received quite a number of good comments to my articles but unable to show them to the readers. I can only view them privately inside my dashboard. I think this is quite a shame. So if you have any comments, please key them directly in the open feedback form in the article. Otherwise, you may drop me an email through sgwealthbuilder@gmail.com. I will be happy to publish it.

I was sad to discover that a fellow blogger had stopped writing. He gave his farewell posting a few months back and I chanced upon it while I was just surfing around. I am happy for him that he has decided that there are more important things to tend to.

Anyway, it got me questioning myself on why I even write this blog. I have better things to do. I have in fact too many things to do. But writing is a form of relaxation for me. A way to express myself. A way to converse since I am not really gifted in talking (and there is nobody to talk to me in the real world). Writing is my form of escape. It is my way of voicing my thoughts.

Sometimes, it is good to just get something off my chest. To know that I have voiced out my opinion …

My blog’s pageviews will be hitting 25,000 soon! This is very heartening and encouraging to me. Although my blog’s readership is nowhere near the millions of hits enjoyed by popular bloggers like Xiaxue and Tan Kin Lian, I am pleased that there are quite a few people who took time to read my blog and provided me feedbacks. I am also glad that most of the comments given were matured and non-provocative, which is encouraging as it spurs me to keep on blogging. I would like to give thanks to you readers for your precious time and feedbacks. Although I am unable to blog as often as I used to be (due to work and family commitments), I would try my best to squeeze in some time to blog down some of my investment and money-making journey. The experiences captured in this blog is not only for sharing of knowledge, …

I am proud to announce that after tweaking for some time, the Making Passive Income mobile site is ready! I know that some of you have been reading Making Passive Income on smartphones such as Iphone and Samsung Galaxy and that it is a bit difficult to navigate and you have to constantly resize the window. I have also edited several pages, including About Page and Contact Page.

When you use your smartphone browser to enter Making Passive Income, the website should automatically detect and you should see a screen which looks something like this. The new layout is catered to the smaller screens of smartphones and you only need to scroll vertically instead of having scroll horizontally as well for the desktop version. The mobile site is focused on content which are the posts as well as comments and leaves out many elements which are present in the desktop site…

Hopefully, this site will remain relevant for all. It is challenging to generate content. Very difficult considering that I do not have much free time to sit down, think and write. Many of the posts are either written in the wee hours of the night when I would really love to be sleeping rather than writing, and also when my brain really stops functioning normally.

Those of you who are regular visitors to me blog would have noticed that the frequency of my blog posts are going down. It is part of the evolution of this blog, in that this blog has allowed me to articulate many of my thoughts and frameworks about financial freedom.

The more these ideas get flushed out into the open, the more I start to seize small opportunities here and there to turn time into money.

I also realise that monetization from blogging comes more from content creation and curation and to see my blog as a means to an end rather than an end itself.

Some of these monetization projects needs me to spend spare time to really develop those content that can be monetized in a coherent manner. I’ve explored many of the key themes related to financial freedom, and it has helped me tremendously in growing wiser …

please accept my sincere apologies for not being able to blog for what seems like eternity to me at least because of the mountains of work piled up in front of me since prior to the chinese new year holidays.

As the market transforms back and fro into a beast that is neither a bull or a bear (perhaps it had always been a hybrid chimera of sort – a bull with bear head for instance), I noticed that more and more old timer bloggers are slowly exiting the blogging scene. I say that with a tinge of heartache, because some of them had been blogging together with me since I started circa 2006 period, right near the peak of the bull market. 6 years had since passed, with each of them patiently and industrially churning out articles after articles, sometimes to an unappreciative crowd of anonymous users, and hopefully not blogging just to yourself.

I guess there’s a time and tide for everything. As we grow older, a lot of activities will exact their demands on our energy and time. Suddenly passions that you once had might have gone …

Do you want to see the Lockheed Martin’s F-35 JSF up-close? How about being enthralled by the flying displays from F-16 and F-15SG? If these don’t entice you, what if you can get to see the latest darling of commercial aviation, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner right in front of you?

Similar to most people, let me share my year 2011 review.

My first post is on 1 Apr 2011. April fool day! My blog is now 8 months old!

Thank you!
It was, is and will be a very fulfilling and exciting journey to record and share my journey in investing. In this year I had learnt many things (average in, XIRR, emotion, power of internal strength etc) and had summarise the some of the key things which I have learnt in a blog post earlier. (See http://opposethetrend.blogspot.com/2011/10/my-story-typical-know-nothing-to-know.html).

Beside what I have learnt, I have also made friends with many interesting people such as 50k saving per year, 100k passive income, BBB WJ, Keppel’s Uncle with hot daughter in SMU, atas DBSS, audit director, leverage king, sexy mum, small fry, busty froggy, hot doctor, cookie monster, serious MW, drizzt, sexy SMOL, piggybank, …
