My Investment Portfolio (April 2013)
3 May 2013 | 4:54 am

STI gained more ground in April 2013 to close at 3368.18. Liquidity plus selective buying of blue chip counters had meant that STI keep hiting new highs.

For this month, I have attended the following AGMs/EGMs/briefings - OSIM, M1, FSL Trust, Sing Holdings, SP Corp, Sabana REIT, Challenger, Keppel REIT, CapitaCommercial Trust, CapitaMall Trust, Colex, Tuan Sing, Keppel T&T, Wheelock Properties, Pan Pacific Hotels Group, UOL, GK Goh, IFS, Raffles Medical Group, Food Empire, ST Engineering, Auric Pacific, Guthrie GTS, New Toyo, EnGro Corp, Hong Fok and Lee Kim Tah.

For my top 30 holdings, Hotel Royal entered the list for the first time. The stock had done well lately due to some buying interest.

I have bought the following companies from the market this month - ASJ, Far East Orchard, IFS, LHT, Metro Holdings and Transview. There is no sale done this month.

I have also subscribed to the following rights issues - China Fishery and Viking Offshore & Marine.

For next month, many companies with financial year ending 31 December 2012 will be paying out their dividends to shareholders. I will seek to re-invest those proceeds prudently back into the market. Also, I have missed out reading some of those annual reports last month and I will continue to review them. There will also be some rights issues which I intend to apply.

My Investment Portfolio (March 2013)
1 April 2013 | 2:52 am

STI gained further ground in March 2013 to close at 3308 points. This despite news of financial turmoil in Cyprus and North-South Korean tensions. However, markets do end in the lower trading range at the end of the last week in March.

For this month, I have attended the following AGMs/EGMs/briefings - MIIF, Datapulse, United Engineers, QianHu, Sakae Holdings, China Fishery, GP Industries, Sinwa, YHM and Gallent Venture.

For my top 30 holdings, Hotel Grand Central re-entered the list after a good run. I have also added more onto the stock as I felt that it is still undervalued. First REIT also re-entered the list as investors like their latest purchase of hospitals. Another big mover was Low Keng Huat, ahead of their full-year result announcement.

I have bought the following companies from the market this month - Asia Enterprises, BBR Holdings, Chew's Group, EnGro Corp, GK Goh, Ho Bee, Hotel Grand Central, Hong Fok, Keppel T&T and UOB KayHian. There is no sale done this month.

I have accepted the following voluntary delisting/cash offers - PCA Tech. I have also subscribed to the following rights issues - Albedo, Aspial, KS Energy and Federal.

For next month, most companies with financial year ending 31 December 2012 will conduct their AGMs. I will try to attend as many of them as possible, though it seems to be an uphill task as the annual reports might not arrive in time for me to at least go through them. Nevertheless, I will try to do as much work as possible before attending those meetings. As such, I do not expect much activities from me in the market, though there are some rights issues which I planned to take up with the PCA Tech proceeds.

My Investment Portfolio (February 2013)
1 March 2013 | 10:19 pm

February 2013 started well but the momentum was lost towards the end of the month as investors took profits after the Italian election results. Interests were seen in micro-cap penny stocks which were heavily traded. STI ended at 3269.

For this month, I have attended the following AGMs/EGMs/briefings - CM Pacific, Ossia, Petra, Yoma and Transview.

For my top 30 holdings, Sarin Technologies continued its good run after announcing a decent set of FY2012 results and also provided dividend guidance. Guthrie GTS was another big mover this month and I also added more onto the counter. Haw Par performed well as investors cheered its bonus issue that had been declared after they announced their FY2012 results towards the end of the month.

I have bought the following companies from the market this month - 2nd Chance, BBR Holdings, Chosen, Eu Yan Sang, Guthrie GTS, Haw Par, Ho Bee, Intraco, Keppel T&T, LC Development, LHT, Nam Lee, Popular, Sakae Holdings, SBS Transit, Sing Holdings, Singapore Reinsurance, Stamford Land, Tuan Sing, YHI and Zagro Asia. There is no sale done this month.

I have accepted the following voluntary delisting/cash offers - Rokko. My shares in Kian Ann had been acquired via Scheme of Arrangement. I have also subscribed to the following rights issue - Moya Asia.

I have participated in the following scrip dividend schemes - Cambridge, MapleTree Industrial Trust and MapleTree Logistics Trust. I have also converted the following company warrants to shares - UPP Holdings.

For next month, companies with financial year ending 31 December 2012 will be starting to conduct their AGMs. I will be reading up their annual reports and attending their AGMs. Also, I need to recap and go through those results announcements again to decide which AGMs I wish to attend in April as there might not be enough time for me to go through all the annual reports in April.

My Investment Portfolio (January 2013)
1 February 2013 | 4:13 am

The year got into a good start as STI powered ahead 3.65% to end at around 3300 points. Although things are pretty much the same on the economic front, investors seem to be on a "risk on" mode as large volume can be seen in small cap stocks.

For this month, I have attended the following AGMs/EGMs/briefings - Comm Design, Technics Oil & Gas, MFS Tech, Olam, Straits Trading, WBL, Thai Village, Sinobest, Etika, BRC Asia, Pacific Andes, PNE Industries, PNE Micron, Nam Lee and Casa Holdings.

For my top 30 holdings, Low Keng Huat and SP AusNet returned to the list due to good share price performance. Sarin Technologies was another big movement in the list.

I have bought the following companies from the market this month - Chew's Group, Colex, Far East Orchard, GK Goh, Guthrie GTS, Hong Leong Finance, Hotel Royal, IFS, Koon, Lung Kee (Bermuda), Nam Lee, OUE, Transview and Tuan Sing. I had also reduced my stake in Aspial in anticipation for the upcoming rights issue.

I have accepted the following voluntary delisting/cash offers - Kinergy and SC Global. I have also subscribed to the following rights issue - Ramba Energy.

I have participated in the following scrip dividend schemes - Aspial, Far East Orchard and MTQ Corp.

Next month will be a busy reporting month as most companies with financial year ending 31 December 2012 will be reporting their full-year results. I will be going through their result announcements as well as their comments on the outlook and business prospects for this financial year.
