Portfolio Update – Feb 2020 (A prelude to an upcoming recession?)

WOW what a crazy end to Febuary this has been. The COVID-19 has not only caused an uproar around world but also sent the stock markets downhill. For the first time I am experiencing such a downturn and normally you would expect commodities such as gold and crypto to do well in situation like this but a quick glimse through the market almost all the stocks closed this week in thier reds. The STI plunged 3.2% on Friday. Elsewhere, the US the suffered their sharpest decline since August. Would this lead to a reccesion for most countries? And how does that impact my portfolio?

A little about me, I am 21 this year currently waiting to start my education in a local university. I have always been interested in investing but have never bothered to step out of my comfort zone to learn more about it until I happened to chance upon a financial blog by a guy who is of the same age as me.
