My intuition Forgive me for not subscribing to MMT’s (modern monetary theory) “power”, I feel that imperfect financial intermediaries (banks) are what creates unrealistic forecast on potential policies. One main function of financial intermediaries is maturity transformation (liquidity provision into the economy), it reflects the risk of bank runs (not being able to fulfil its deposits).
