Thanksgiving in 2020

One week before Thanksgiving, I want to count my blessings and to remind myself of the important lessons that 2020 has taught me.

Blessing 1: I am thankful for the ability to ignore sunk costs.

In the past, I’ve witnessed people in my circle hold on to lost causes. It may come in the form of doubling down on a failing business, staying in a dysfunctional relationship or a toxic workplace. I never understood why they did it, until my own experience. I used to be an electronics engineer. I enjoyed the work and was paid well. In fact, I was too well paid.
