Portfolio And Blog Update – Dec 2020
By Derek  •  December 28, 2020
It has been 3 months since my last portfolio update, and I will stick to this schedule unless I have something burning to pen down. Transactions from October 2020 to Dec 2020
  1. Bought Far East Hospitality Trust
  2. Bought CapitaRetail China Trust
  3. Subscribed to Mapletree Logistic Trust
  4. Sold Dutech
  5. Bought JD Health International
  6. Subscribed to CaptiaRetail China Trust
Dutech has been one of my largest underperforming stocks and I sold it to buy more banks, tech or Crypto. My biggest purchase is my maiden purchase of JD Health International in HKSE. It is not a surprise since I was preparing to buy ANT before the IPO was scrapped. My problem is I do not have a selling price in mind and since it does not pay a dividend, I will keep my position small.
Stock Portfolio 2020 Lazy Man Portfolio - Dec 2020   A fellow blogger gave me a timely reminder - “Simplify your life with less effort, confusion and mental energies and also save costs long term. Cut out he sales pitch and noise elsewhere”. My plan in Q1 2021 is to reduce my cash holdings to about 10 to 20% and I plan to do this by buying the following: DBS – 100 shares x $26.00 = $2,600 OCBC – 300 shares x $10.10 = $3,030 Kep Infra Tr – 2,100 shares x $0.550 = $1,155 Lion-OCBC Securities Hang Seng TECH ETF – 4,000 shares x $1.370 = $5,480 Bitcoin - $1,500 worth Ethereum – $1,500 worth Total: $15,265 I will continue to build up on my core blue chip position which is DBS and OCBC. I will also increase my stake in Keppel Infrastructure Trust to 2% because of its consistent dividends. I am keen to hop into the Tech bandwagon and Lion-OCBC Securities Hang Seng TECH ETF is ideal. I have some Bitcoin from last year and will be adding a bit more plus Ethereum. I think the current Crypto current craze is more sustainable than the last. However, I am mindful of the volatility and these derivatives will not give me any dividends. Hence, I limit them (JD Health, Lion-OCBC Tech ETF and Crypto) to no more than 15% of my portfolio. Lastly, my plan for the rest of 2021 is to stop looking at new stocks and to focus on building my warchest and increasing my current holdings if the opportunity arises.

Blog Update Targets for Q1 2021: 1) Image optimization - progress is slow as I can only do it between 12 AM and 6 AM. 2) Update Blog 3) Implement Telegram - one channel will be to publish the latest post and another channel for a chat group. A few bloggers have graciously express their interest and I will start by creating a blogger only telegram first. No change to the targets set in September 2019 as I am still busy with work, fatherhood and home renovation. Please bear with me on my slow response while I learn to be more efficient.
