Long term investing is not popular with the new generations

A new generation of young investors is approaching investment with a get-rich-quick mindset, incurring ever-increasing risks along the way. They are not interested in the time-consuming process of constructing a balanced portfolio of stocks, cash, bonds, real estate, and gold and seeing it increase year by year. They would like to make a profit quickly, and there are lots of individuals who will urge them to do so. Bitcoin is largely to blame, as are high-flying tech equities like Tesla. Early investors struck gold, but now everyone wants in on the fun. Consider the recent uproar over the US video game store GameStop. It appeared hopeless once it became a joke on Reddit web forums, prompting individual investors to pile into the company in order to make a fortune and slap the big, bad hedge funds who were shorting it....
