In the article, Lim Chow Kiat, chief executive officer of GIC said – Thanks to the declining returns of bonds, the model 60/40 portfolio may eke out real returns - after inflation - of just 1 per cent - 2 per cent a year over the next decade. That compares with gains of 6 per cent - 8 per cent over the past 30 to 40 years. Fast-forward to last week, this article on The Business Times caught my eye : “
