I know it’s has become a thing for deals to be hyped as “insane” or “crazy” but I’ll let the deals speak for themselves this month – THREE sign-up offers feature an iPad, with one offering a choice of S$350 eCapitaVouchers if you wish, and one more that is giving five hundred dollars of cashback (yes, S$500), Is there some inter-bank competition going on now to procure the most customers regardless of cost? So quietly in fact, I think it almost went unnoticed until I saw it, rubbed my eyes and thought someone made a mistake. As an adult, I’ve been through many ups and downs in my career path and personal finance journey, not unlike many Singaporeans. From my years as a tied insurance agent turned independent financial adviser, I realised that there are very few sources of proper, unbiased financial advice for working adults to access. Worse, self-styled “financial consultants” are selling products like savings plans and ILPs to the detriment of the clients whose interests they were supposed to serve.
