2024Q3: Achieving S$1.1M in Net Worth

It’s nice to cross S$1.1M in liquid net worth just in time for my quarterly stock-take. Since my last article 5 months ago, I’ve been very busy. Here’s the big stuff I was dealing with.
  1. Ended my sabbatical early and started a new job
  2. Buying and selling homes
  3. Helping someone in the family deal with cancer
  4. The usual rebalancing of my portfolio
It was all a blur but now I finally have some downtime to write. The figures 2024 has been an extremely good year for me. I’ve managed to milk out 25% return on the entire portfolio. In comparison, the S&P500 was up 22%. A beat is a beat, so I’m pretty happy with the results. It is hard for some people to think in terms of percentages. Putting it in more tangible terms, my 2024 capital gains and dividends up till October has exceeded my annual salary. Here are the positive highlights from my portfolio this year....
