HSBC Rewards Update: Costlier KrisFlyer Transfers From 16th January 2025, Fee Waiver Extended

Have HSBC Rewards points? Note that you will need more points to transfer to Singapore Airlines’ KrisFlyer miles starting from 16th January 2025. If you have been intending to use points earned on your HSBC credit cards for KrisFlyer miles, you should make plans to transfer them before that date. I personally wouldn’t, but more on that later. At the same time, there’s a little bit of good news: the fee waiver for converting HSBC points into airline miles has been extended indefinitely. New conversion ratio Until 16th January 2025, HSBC Rewards points can be converted at a ratio of 25,000 points to 10,000 miles. After the change, the ratio will be 30,000 points to 10,000 miles – a price hike of 20%. If you have been keeping your HSBC points for KrisFlyer, you have about a month to take advantage of the current conversion ratio.
