A couple of months ago, American Express cards were finally added to SimplyGo, making it possible for Amex cardholders to use their cards across Singapore’s public transportation network. It came with a major downside though — cardholders do not earn any rewards when using their American Express cards to pay for their bus and train fares… not even the True Cashback Card! This has been a surprisingly harsh decision, but at least for July we now have a way to earn some rewards on our transit fares with our American Express cards, and it’s a pretty decent promo! From 3rd to 31st July 2025, add the offer to your Amex card using the Amex SG app and you can get S$3 off S$6 of public transportation fares up to 5 times per card. Oh boy, time to go clanging my Amex Platinum against the gantries!...
