Nerfed/Buffed: UOB Preferred Platinum Visa Introduces Category Caps But Adds SimplyGo For 4 Miles Per Dollar

UOB has announced a revision to the UOB Preferred Platinum Visa and it’s pretty bad news: from 1st October 2025, the card will introduce category spend caps of S$600 per month for each of its contactless payment and online categories. At the same time, the overall monthly cap has increased slightly to S$1,200 per month from the current S$1,110. From 28th August 2025, the card will also earn 4 miles per dollar on SimplyGo transactions. Category cap of S$600 for contactless payments and online transactions The main change (and nerf) that is happening to the UOB Preferred Platinum Visa is the imposition of category caps for both the contactless payments and online transactions categories.
