I’ve been collecting KrisFlyer miles for 10 years. Over half a million miles earned. Flown business class to Bali, Taipei, and a few other places. My current balance sits at around 300,000 miles, including unconverted bank points.
KrisFlyer is Singapore Airlines’ frequent flyer programme. You earn miles from flights and credit card spending, then redeem them for award flights on SQ and Scoot.
People sometimes ask why KrisFlyer. The assumption ranges from national pride, SQ fandom, to some irrational loyalty to the Sarong Kebaya. I like SQ. Many Singaporeans do. But “I like them” is not a strategy.
I chose KrisFlyer for three practical reasons: geography, earning infrastructure, and spending flexibility. If those three things didn’t line up, I’d be collecting something else.
If you’re wondering why join KrisFlyer over other frequent flyer programmes, this post is my personal reasoning. Not a comparison guide, not a “best programme” ranking. My situation, my logic, my choice. Take what resonates with you....
